Default Disney's D23 Expo 2011

Disney will be hosting their biennial fan event, the D23 Expo, at the Anaheim convention center August 19-21.

On Sunday, a panel will be dedicated to the Disney Cruise Line:

IMAGINEERING THE DREAM AND THE FANTASY - 9:00-9:45am
Imagineers Joe Lanzisero and Bob Zalk talk about the design of Disney's latest cruise ships. View the full schedule here:D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event

They will also be showcasing what they call the "Carousel of Projects," an exhibit space designed to spotlight a number of the company's wares including the Disney Cruise Line with, as they say on the D23 Expo web site, "What's new at Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney and Disney Vacation Club." View the info here: D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event

What's more, those who are particularly well versed in all things Disney can test their knowledge at the Ultimate Disney Trivia Tournament with the chance to win a trip on Disney Fantasy. View the info here: D23 Expo: The Ultimate Fan Event

I'll be in attendance this year. Is anyone else going to be there?

Of interest to you on the East Coast certainly would be the news regarding Fantasyland at Disney World. The new Seven Dwarfs mine train ride looks fantastic with a new ride system where the buckets you sit in sway like a hammock independent of the roller coaster train itself thus creating even more lateral motion. Also, upcoming film projects like Pixar's Brave and Disney's Wreck-It Ralph look amazingly creative and humorous. And of course, The Avengers will be sure to please. We got to see exclusive new footage that was superb as well as see the majority of the cast on stage in person. The expo was imperfect but surely a lot of fun just the same. Thanks for asking!
