san juan transfers

we will be arriving 2 days before a celebrity cruise next january and we will be 4 people with 6 to 8 bags plus carry on-can the normal cabs at the san juan airport handle that to take us to a hotel or do we need different type of ground transportation-

You shouldn't have a problem with cabs in San Juan..They have larger vans if needed or if 4 people and the luggage is too much, you can always use 2 cabs. They do, however charge for the number of bags, so keep that in mind. I think its still will save $ over using any cruiseline transfers and quicker.

our hotel got us our van for transport. they charged us $20 for the three of us, plus our luggage. most of the time they charged $0.50 a bag.

beware...our taxi driver to the port ripped us...he told us $20 for the three of us for the whole van. then two others joined us and he charged them $20 as well. that was the only trouble we had.

everyone else was great. and when you leave port, there are people out there to help you get a taxi.
