San Diego Pre-Night - Need Reco's
We're going to be doing a pre-night in San Diego. We're staying at the Sheraton San Diego by the marina on the bay and should be getting in around 1-2pm local time.

We were thinking about hitting the zoo, but we'll be getting up at the crack of dawn to fly out of JFK and will probably be too tired from flying cross country to do that much walking around to see the zoo.

Anything closeby the hotel area that would be good to go/see for a couple of hours?

Any good restaurants that you'd recommend - casual is fine. Anyone know anything about The Fish Market?

Thanks for your tips...only a few days to go!!

I loved the zoo I think you can see a lot of the zoo in a couple of hours by taking one of the buses that goes around. Here is a link to my gallery of the San Diego zoo.

I know you already have a hotel booked, but we really liked the Bahia Resort Hotel it is close to the zoo and has a blind harbor seal in front. The Hotel saved the seal it could not have lived in the wild. Have a fun trip.

In Old Town San diego you will find various restaurants and see some nice old houses. Not too far from your hotel, but you need a cab to get there.

Thanks for the feedback! Will probably play it by ear when we get to San Diego and see how the day goes. The luggage is coming out tonight to start packing! Can't wait!

There is also a wildlife zoo in San Diego along with Sea World. You can't go wrong with either, have a great time, hope the packing has begun :-)

Go to the zoo! They have a great bus tour that takes you around 90% of the zoo. Then you can decide what you want to go back to on foot. The zoo is quite hilly but the have escolators going up on the steep parts.

There is also the wild life zoo, where the animals are in their natural habitat, unless this is what the previous poster was talking about. Plus, there is always Sea World, great way to spend a day.
