Transportation from Long Beach (Carnival) to LAX

What is the best approach for transportation to LAX from the Long Beach (Canival) pier. What does a taxi run? Can you arrange a shuttle?

If you are going to LAX after a cruise I would purchase the ship's transfers. If you don't want to do that, then you could try SuperShuttle or PrimeTime Shuttle. A tax would be costly.

I don't know if you would consider this the BEST way to get to LAX, but it will be the cheapest. Note that the times listed in this example are for the next bus trip taken after I researched the route, at about 4:00 pm today. (taken from the Metro website):

Super shuttle is a good reliable company. I used them the staff was very helpful in Long beach made sure I got on the right bus. You get a tour of California as it picks up and drops off other passengers along the route. If you book on line I think you save some money so use their website.

Don't use taxi's my friend lives in L.A and says they will rip you off, by driving slow routes. If you do decide to go with a cab arrange it ahead of time and see if they will quote you a price, make sure you get the cab #.

I used Supershuttle also and liked them. Not in Long Beach, but from the Sacramento Airport back home. The driver was friendly, even when my dad tried to give him wrong directions. I flew from Venice Italy to Sacramento CA with my family and everyone was jet lagged, tired, grumpy. So the driver's positive attitude was very important.
