Getting to the San Diego port early - is it safe?
 

I just booked myself for a solo trip on the Elation, leaving out of San Diego. My air reservations have me getting into the San Diego airport at 9:30am, and today I noticed the Port website states boarding for the Elation does not start until 12:30pm. Now I've traveled alone many times in the past and never had issues, but I've never cruised solo before, and never cruised out of this port either. Since I'm traveling alone I'm wondering 1) is there anywhere to wait until boarding starts,, and 2) will it be safe to wait there until boarding starts?

Sorry if I'm sounding like a scaredy-cat, but my Mother has been in an absolute tizzy over this and swears I'm going to be mugged before I even make it onto the ship (my SO, on the other hand, swears I'll be fine, but she's convinced he just saying that so he can go golfing for 5 days straight, lol!).

You can drop your bags then go site seeing near by there is the Maritime museum a 5 min walk away, hotels across the road, restaurants lots of people around at that time of the day
