Default Tri train MIA to FLL (anyone taken recently)

I know an older post on here stated that the Tri train was not always dependable between MIA and FLL. We are flying in a day early to MIA and need to get to FLL. Obviously we can leave early on departure date to ensure we are in FLL in plenty of time to board the ship. I am just wondering how the train has been runnng recently? Can others share? Also, is a cab the best way to get from FLL to the pier? And the cheapest?

Thank you...

If you just need to go from MIA airport to FLL airport there are numerous shuttle companies outside the Ground Transportation Exits that will take you for around $15 each.
The company I see recommended most for shuttles from area hotels to all the ports is SAS transportation www.ridesas.com

A cab from FLL airport to the pier is currently around $13.
