Default Los Angeles" Best Hotels San Pedro

We are taking a repositioning cruise in May to Vancouver on Golden Princes and were wanting to stay in a good hotel for a few days prior to the cruise.
What would be a good Hotel near the pier where you can relax, enjoy yourself and has eating establishments.

Thanks

I'd recommend Crowne Plaza, San Pedro.

Default Ah...

Kuki

Thank you for the Hotel name.
They say a taxi is about $65 US from Airport to Hotel and about 5 years ago some cruisers said they could get a taxi to the pier from the Airport for $20US.
Did inflation go up or they meant per person.

Anyhow, sounds like ATM'S, Banks, tourist stuff is all walkable and one can get good rooms for s decent price.

How long is the taxi ride from the Hotel to the San Pedro pier for Golden Princess.

We just finished a Sea Princess 14 days cruise from Barbados and as we live on Vancouver Island decided to take the repositioning cruise from LA to Vancouver in May 2011 as a treat for our wedding anniversary.

Cheers;-):-D

Robh, congratulations on your anniversary. We just did r/t Hawaii on the Golden from San Pedro. The Crowne Plaza, as Kuki recommended (and where we met him a few years ago) is a nice hotel about half mile from the port. Instead of taking taxi from LAX you could take SuperSuttle (blue van) or PrimeTime (red van) for about $19/pp. The only downside to that is if it is full they might have to drop other off first. But if you plan to be here a few days before the cruise maybe rent a car so you will have more flexibility. Enjoy!

PS: We love Victoria and Vancouver, can't wait to visit again

lv2b@sea
Thank you for the information about the shuttle bus options.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your return cruise from LA to Hawaii as it seems to be a new popular option for folks instead of flying return or or one way.
Did you enjoy the sea days and I have to assume the Golden Princess is still a nice ship.
Back in 2005 we took it for a 10 day cruise around the British Isles.

Cheers
