I'm booked on the Magic on 12/4 and the transportation costs from IAH to Galveston are scaring me. One because they are expensive and 2 because it seems so wasteful to take a 'limo' service by myself. I'm arriving at 3:30pm
Perhaps someone here is also sailing and might be coming in on the 3rd and we can car share?
Maybe someone will see you post, and you can plan a share.
I flew in form Boston, Galveston, and did the transfer..it is along way..the bus will go from terminal to terminal tio fill the bus, with incoming passengers from other flights.
I had to get a friend, get a friend get a freind to get me to the airport, as my flight back was 1:00 I think. They advised nothing earlier than 2:00, but, we made it. Have fun!

I'm coming in on the 3rd so ship transfer is not an option. I have shared car service going back to the airport but trying to find something that isn't $$$ although that appears to be doubtful.
I'll post on the Meet on Board forum. Thanks for the heads up.
Snoozeman we sailed together on one of the Saints and Sinners group cruises. Shirley still talks about that jewelery store in Cozumel that you took her and Dale to.

how about a car rental you could pick up at IAH & drop off near the port
Try bidding on Priceline .... I got a car for 11 p/d for the end of Nov but we are staying in Houston area
Galveston is one of those ports that it's not best to come a day early, mainly because of the transportation limitations. Also the airports rarely are closed or delayed so if one can get an early flight on the day of sailing that's the way to go.
Rental cars are not an easy option as no one is open in Galveston on a Sunday. I believe Enterprise has a drop off though. I'd think with the larger ships now coming to Galveston that a car rental agency would take advantage of the business--we'll see.
@Bonnie--I still have my S&S bubba mug and drink tea from it quite often. Nelly still owns the Mayan Pearl and also a shop next to the 7-11 just off the main square. I still get my haircut just down the street at Antonio's. My new hangout in that area is Wet Wendys.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and suggestions.
A good friend that I have cruised and vacationed with has hooked me up with some Houston friends of hers & they are going to pick me up at the airport and take me to the hotel.
These folks are from Boston so hopefully I can find something that is 'native' to Boston that I can bring down for them.
As I type,I am eating Boston Baked Beans candy....that would bring a smile from home
Love Boston Baked Beans Candy. Another thing would be Fluff which was created and still made here as are Necco wafers.
I was messaging with the gal and mentioned New England Style Hot dog rolls & she said she might want some of those. When my niece graduated boot camp in Missouri I had to bring 8 packages of the things. I'm sure the TSA folks were scratching there heads at a suitcase with nothing but hot dog rolls

As I flew home from Ohio my bags were searched b/c they saw something in my bag under xray. They got a kick out of finding a 5 pound chub of trail bologna that I was bringing home for Liz. Its her fav! It can only be found in a particular Amish community.
We have recently furnished a CM buddy with hard to find bagels. USPS has delivered 2 packages to Georgia.
