Cape Liberty Cruiseport

I had read somewhere that the owners of Cape Liberty port might be closing the port to cruise ships in the next year or two. When I read the article, I didn't have the feeling that anything definite had been decided.

In researching cruises from Cape Liberty with RCL, or Celebrity, I found the following: Celebrity only shows cruises till April 2012 and RCL shows cruises leaving up until October, 2012. We were looking for either late 2012 or January of 2013 for our next cruise but I can't find anything listed. Is it to early to book for November, 2012 and 1/2013, or is the rumor I heard about Cape Liberty closing to cruise ships correct?


Anyone have any information?

I haven't heard anything about the port closing .I do know that cruise lines that sailed from Manhattan in the past are now sailing from Red Hook ,NY .
