Tampa to Fort Lauderdale

Is it possible (and practical!) to get off one ship in Tampa (RCCL) and make it to Fort Laurerdale for a same day embarkment on another cruise (Princess)?

And if so, which mode of Transportation (Company names if you have!)would you suggest?

Tampa to Fort Lauderdale is about 3 - 4 hrs by car.

If self disembarked and weren't late , you probably could just make the transfer . I don't know if there are any shuttles that run between the ports.

If anything goes wrong or are delayed by weather you most likely won't make it.

Personally I wouldn't do it.

We have driven from Orlando to Fll, often, and it takes about 4 hours, so you need to factor more time in getting from the west, to the east coast. A rental car would make the most sense to me, and, you can return it at Fll airport, then get shuttled to the port.

If you get off the ship early with no custom issues,and have a smooth drive over, you would probably board mid afternoon, for a 4/5 o'clock sailing..bring some pepto
