ending cruise in Dubai 28 need an area recommendation to stay for 3 days

I am new to this site, so forgive me if I am not doing something right.
I am also very happy to find this community.

We are cruising on the Serenade of the Seas and will end up in Dubai on January 28. I have been looking at maps and hotels and shared houses/apts for 3 days. We are thinking about Bur Dubai or further south at New Dubai area. I understand the metro is pretty easy to use. Which area is easier to get around for a tourist?
