I love dancing and having a good time and I LOVE to hear my favorite songs. Can I make a cd and bring it with me to give to the DJ. I know this might seem a little bold...but my boyfriend used to DJ and they are real people so I feel like he might enjoy having a little passenger imput. Does anyone know what kind of technology they use for the music?
SRobinM, if you know the Artist & Song Title then why not ask the ship's DJ to play it? Most cruise lines subscribe to music services so their DJs will have the best music selections. It's not required for the DJ to bring & supply the music he or she has to work with, although supplementing the ship's music with older hits that may not be in their catalog works too.
If you hand the DJ a commercialy available (you can purchase it in ANY port) CD and, heaven forbid, something (bad) happens to it, the DJ can & would buy a replacement. On the other hand, if you hand the DJ a CD that you've burned... ??? What could he or she do? Best thing to do is request a song. If the DJ does not have it, he or she could probably download it [LEGALLY!] in port (assuming you are asking at the beginning of the cruise), burn it and play it for you the next night, depending on when the ship reaches port.
