Default How Did I Like The Show?

I'm a four-time cruiser, who's just returned from NCL's Norwegian Star trip to the Mexican Riviera. I actually like the song & dance shows, although I have a few quibbles:
(1) WHY do all the girl singers have cooky-cutter voices? Why do all the white singers want to sound like a black gospel singer? Why can't they use their own voice? (They do have one, don't they?)

(2) What's with all the smoke?

(3) I really liked some of the lectures on Mercury's trip to Alaska. Do other lines have them?

Aloha.....just a comment on "white singers want to sound like black gospel singers" ..... it's not that they are trying to sound "black"........it's just how they are comfotable singing.........that's kind of like saying that as an asian singer, I should sound like an asian singer........that's rediculous........I sing in many styles ranging from gospel, to traditional broadway...........it all depends on comfort levels............

I have to laugh at your questions, because I generally feel the same way. I believe that the entertainers on ships are all (or mostly all) very talented and well-trained, but the whole cheest Vegas thing is not my cup of tea either.

Your comment reminded me of the guy who auditioned on American Idol last week and was horrible. Badder than bad. Simon even asked the guy how he ever got a job on a ship. If you saw it you'll appreciate the chuckle. Sure hope there aren't many more like him. <g>

he...he...he....I saw that too.........there is no way in hell he could have worked on the cruise ship.......actually, if he was on one of our ships....he would have been fired during the rehearsal process..............as for the Vegas cheese......I have to agree with you....... but you know......middle america seems to love the glitz and the T&A of vegas.......hence why there are so many shows going on in vegas.........but I agree with you on that point
