Venice Hotel-Charitable Donations?

I making Internet reservations for the Hotel Danieli in Venice I noticed that there was a phrase associated with the quote for our room that was "foreign" to me. Has anyone ever heard "Charitable donation per room per stay required"? If so, please advise as to what this means? Thanks in advance for your comments.

dont know...but couldnt resist the chance to make certain you
make reservations for dinner on the rooftop for dinner.. at
sunset... we are looking foward to returning this may for dinner
while on the celebrity millenium...

In July we are going on the Ren 5 Rome-Venice itinerary. We have added two days pre-cruise in Rome and one day post cruise in Venice. We will definitely have dinner on the rooftop restaurant...what better way to end our vacation..right?

FYI, I found out from another cruiser that a charitable donation is a few dollars added on to the bill for UNICEF.
