Turkey

I am a first time cruiser. My wife and I are on a Celebrity cruise leaving Rome/Citiv. June 21 and returning July 2. One of the main reasons we had planned this specific cruise were the two stops in Turkey. Currently the two stops have been replaced. If Turkey settles down is there a chance Celebrity would return to its original itinerary?

There's always a possibility. We loved Istanbul and Ephesus, so it's very unfortunate that there is unrest there that is causing itinerary changes. It would make a big difference to us if we were on that trip. I hope your substitute ports are good. It is fortunate that you know in advance because a shipload of passengers were substituted with ports in Norway and Amsterdam last April/May due to weather, and NCL chose not to advise the passengers even though NCL knew well in advance that they could not sail into that area. I know that doesn't help much with your present situation, but I'd much rather know in advance so that I could make alternate arrangements.

Do you know if Mediterranean Shipping Cruiseline is still sailing to Turkey? we are set to sail on July 11, 2004.
