hotel in rome

We will be sailing to Rome on the Brilliance of the Seas and spending 7 days in Rome.

does anyone have any suggestions on a reasonably priced hotel or apartment in Rome?


We don't need fancy, but want a clean, well located place for less than $150 US.

We were in Rome in April and stayed at the Hotel Italia. It is a small hotel listed in Rick Steves Rome 2004. It is difficult to locate but it is within walking distance of all the tourist sights except the Vatican. The rooms are small but clean and the staff is great. They will arrange tours for you if you request them. They have a website. If you cannot locate the website e-mail me and I will send it to you. Although Rick's book says they accept only cash, they do take credit cards. The rate we paid was 113 Euros a night. We found Rick Steves book to be well worth the price, as he does a great job in describing the sights and recommending the restaurants. Ed

Here are two websites that I have looked at . We are looking for just one night post cruise. Some of these places are only available for multiple nights. Both sites have a wealth of information and possibilities.

Also, in Rick Steve's book, Italy there are a number of offers that you can get discounts if you pay cash and show them the book. His website is ricksteves.com
