Venice hotel near port

Book a flight a day early not realizing our ship spent the night in Venice. Trying to ecide best options, rent a car for a day and drive out of Venice for the day and back to airport next day and getting transfers from airport to cruise line or trying to find a hotel either close to airport or ship port and than just getting around without luggage.
Any suggestions for hotels or car companies?

We were on the May 29-June 12 Oceania Insignia ending in Venice. We stayed on the ship the first night and then disembarked the next morning. We had hired a van (there were 7 of us and about 15 bags!) through International Limousine Service near Piazzale Roma. When Oceania was useless to help us find a car, we just stumbled across the office for this limo service on our way back to the ship the first day. E-mail is info@limointernational.com. The van drove us to our hotel in Tessera (5 minutes from the Marco Polo Airport). The Titian Inn was was very modern and clean. We had two "family rooms" for about 160 Eu each room. They let us store our bags there when we arrived around 10:00 a.m., and then we caught the bus 100m from the hotel back to the Piazzale Roma. We spent the day touring Murano and Venice and then took the bus back from the Piazzale Roma, stopping at the Coop Adriatica right there to pick up salami, cheese, fruit, bread, yogurt for a dinner picnic at the Titian. The Titian has a shuttle to the airport that starts at 5:00 a.m. for 10 Eu a room. Everything went very smoothly despite Oceania's failure to assist us as promised.

Thanks for the information. How far is it from the port to the air port? We will be going on The Grand Pr,incess. What did you think of the Oceania, some friends were just saying they would like to go on that line?
