Just read in a travel book that the Galleria dell'Accademia, which houses The David, is closed on Mondays. Unfortunately, that is the only day we will be in Florence.

Hi L2C, I'm sorry to say your info looks correct. According to their website they are open Tuesday through Sunday 08:15 to 18:15, but it may be worth emailing them on galleriaaccademia@polomuseale.firenze.it in case this is a seasonal thing.

Thanks for providing their e-mail address -- I sent them a note this morning inquiring about the Monday closings.

Can't imagine going to Florence and not seeing The David!

Just want to let anyone know that is planning to see The David in Florence -- if you are there on Monday, the museum is closed. It is closed every Monday, year 'round. Just received a reply from the secretary's office about that today.

Hi L2C, that just seems crazy doesn't it. Open on Sundays, but closed on Mondays ?:-| Oh well, I guess that's a good excuse to book another trip in the future ;o)
