Overnight in Venice

Need help, Im a little bit confused

I'm sailing on th Emerald Princess on October 3 from Venice, but the itinerary says, October 3 BLANK, and then October 4 Sails at 1 PM, this means that I can check in on October the 3 and sleep on the Ship and sail on the 4th? Or, i have to check in on Oct 3, sleep in a hotel in Venice and then come back to sail away on the 4?

You board on the 3rd, then can return to spend time in Venice. You can eat on board or ashore & spend the evening in Venice returning to the ship to sleep. Watch for times of last tenders returning to the ship. We will be on this voyage, embarking in Barcelona on sept 21st-Fort Lauderdale Oct 21st. looking forward to all the wonderfaul ports & sea days.

I loved Venice. I suggest you get a orange or blu Venice card that will give you unlimited water bus rides including DM which means "Direct Murano" the island where the glass makers are. Here is a link that explains the difference bewteen the two cards (we wanted the musuems so we got an orange card). http://europeforvisitors.com/venice/...enice-card.htm Here is the site to order the card. The Alilaguna is the water bus that provides transport to and from the airport, you can order is as an option or not (we didn't).
