Unfortunately, nobody on this board can answer that question for you. Each cruise line has a distinct personality and style, so the line that's a good match for me, or for any other responder, might not be a good match for you. Obviously, you'll have the best experience on a line that's a good match for
you.
Here's what I recommend.
>> 1. Go to a local bookstore, buy a travel guide to cruise lines and cruise ships, and read its descriptions of the major cruise lines to determine which cruise lines seem to fit your style and personality. You might find that there's one line that seems to be an obvious right choice, or you might find that two or three lines sound appealing.
>> 2. Check out the itineraries that your chosen lines offer to see if any of them sound especially appealing and the applicable fares. You can do this on line.
>> 3. Find a travel agent near your home who specializes in cruise bookings and discuss your interests and your tentative selections with him or her, then make your booking through the travel agent.
Note, BTW, that I would not place much emphasis on the passenger demographics of the cruise line. Most cruise lines attract a very broad spectrum of passengers. On a cruise line that has a median age of, say, 55, perhaps 10% of the passengers will be in their 20's. That may not sound like much, but most cruise ships carry 2,000 passengers or more and 10% of 2000 is 200 -- enough passengers around your age so you'll find people with whom to socialize. Also, your odds of meeting passengers whose personalities and interests are compatible with yours will be greatest if you choose the line that's a good match for you rather than a line that attracts a lot of people with whom you would have little in common.
It's unlikely that any one cruise will ever visit every destination that you eventually want to visit, so do what's reasonable -- and what you can afford! -- now, knowing that you'll have opportunities to see more ports of call, and more attractions in ports of call that you might repeat, on future trips.
Have a great cruise, whatever you decide!
Norm.
