Greece ports
In october I will be visiting the ports of Rhodes, Mykonos , patmos and Kusadasi (turkey) via seabourn cruise. Can anyone tell me how convenient public transporation (taxi, shuttle, bus) is to where you disembark from the ship?

I have not been there on Seabourn but most ports are walkable to the city
Maybe Seabourn includes excursions I am not sure but if not Rhodes you can walk to the walled city or take a tour to Lindos, rent a car & see the island if you have the time Mykonos depends on where they dock you can walk to the main town & windmills Kusadasi ..shopping is within walking distance for the port but make the trip to Ephesus there is a shuttle now (for a fee) or book a private guide ahead of time Patmos ..go to the monastery we did the ships tour there it was high up on the hill but the town was within walking distance |
lulu,
In Patmos, Is the St Johns Monastery accessible via taxi (rather than climbing the hill)? I am assuming that most organized tours, even those thru ship, just drop you off at bottom then walk up the hill/stairs to the monastery. |
I am pretty sure they dropped us close to the entrance but it was a few years since we were there
I am sure a taxi would get you there also Looked at the website & they say there is a bus http://www.sacred-destinations.com/g...ery-of-st-john Be sure not to miss the Treasury there is a fee but worth it |
Thank you so much, I had no idea there was a bus that would take me to the top. Saves a lot of climbing up stairs.
