What is the best deal that you've gotten on a transatlantic?

What is the best deal that you've ever gotten on a transatlantic cruise? We have taken a couple of them last minute (less than 2 mo. in advance), and gotten great deals. We paid about $500/person for 12+ days cruises. We are considering going again next spring. We wonder what was the best deal that you have gotten on a transatlantic, and did you wait til the last minute? It seems that they discount them pretty well, if you wait, and they aren't filled up.
We are thinking of waiting til a couple of months in advance to take the Jewel of the Seas next May, if the price is right. Or ?

Well, we pretty much do it the opposite than you do. The "best deal" is one of the last things on our priority list. The date, the ship, the itinerary are all far more important considerations to us. That pretty well means we don't do any "last minute" shopping.

Our best Transatlantic was on the liner which is expert for Transatlantics, the QM2!!
