Rouen is a lovely town. Not sure about where the port is, we drove in from Honfleur. There's so much in the area close by though..Honfleur, Giverney, Les Andelys.
Enjoy.

Hi Marion, the only time we were in Rouen our ship docked out at Le Havre & there was an hour to an hour and 15 transfer fime. The river Seine does run through the city, but I'm not aware that it is deep enough to allow a ship to access the city area, so you may want to clarify that with Azamara.
Rouen itself is a busy city within an ancient surround, with a large number of religious buildings, including one where Joan of Arc was tried if I remember correctly. There is also a very unusual, secluded housing square - it was originally a medieval leprosy hospital.
Walking away from the Cathedral across the square there is a road called the Grand Horloge (or something like that) and down that road is a very large ornate clock that spans the width of the road.
The last thing I remember was the Law Courts where you can still see the bullet holes from WWII street battles, quite moving.
If I can find any pics, I'll post them to the albums & drop another message here.
Alan & Katrina
