I am thinking of booking Royal Caribbean's 7 day western Mediterranean cruise (Rome/Civitavecchia, Naples, Valletta, Barcelona, Villefranche-Sur-Mer, Livorno) for my mother and I. However, my mother tends to get seasick. Does anyone know how rough the waters on this trip would be? Any other practical advice on this trip would be helpful.
And I'd certainly recommend a balcony cabin if she's prone to motion sickness.
Nobody can predict the weather or the seas ANYWHERE that I know of but can't recall a cruise review complaining of bad weather during a summer Med cruise. There probably are some, I just haven't read them.
My main practical suggestion is to look, if at all possible, at a slightly longer itinerary. What you're exploring is VERY port-intensive with long flights on both ends. Are pre- and post-cruise days a possibility?
