You may want to notify your bank that you'll be out of the country so they won't think your information has been stolen. They should make note of which countries you'll be visiting and when. Same thing for your credit cards.
If it doesn't work at one, try the one across the street--they are all over, and linked to different banks. You'll find one that works!
However, I seem to remember something about the PIN needing to be all numbers (no letters) which ours is, so hasn't been a problem, due to the different "keyboards" at some of the bancomats. You might want to check on this.
Just to relate our experience this June - had used our ATM card previously in Europe many times - 4 digit pin - no problems. This year in Barcelona we tried to get some extra EUros prior to sailing and had no luck at several tries, different banks. Our bank ATM card has a MasterCard logo and we were told by our bank upon returning home that MC had pulled the usage for foreigh money very abruptly due to fraud - luckily when we got aboard our ship it had an ATM - I made one last attempt prior to going to AMEX office in Barcelona to pick up some wired money and found it worked! Seems RCI ship had their ATM out of Florida not Europe and I was able to access what I needed!
