Mediterranean in October?
I am looking at Mediterranean cruises for October. Celebrity Millenium on Oct. 24th. Is it too late to go in October in terms of weather? Also considering Star Princess on Sept. 1st

Re: Mediterranean in October?
We were on a Med cruise last October and weather was generally very pleasant.

On the day we were to dock in Livorno the port was closed for awhile because of high winds, however.

When we did dock some or all of the tours to Florence were cancelled. A tablemate , who had not been to Florence before, made it in and back and had a wonderful time on his own.

But weather is always an unknown, no matter when you go.

We prefer spring and fall where crowds are somewhat less and chances of high heat and humidity are lower.

I forgot to add that our cruise on the wonderful Oosterdam was 2 Oct to 14 Oct.

Hi Lisa,

We sailed the Western Mediterranean on the Renaissance R1 from 9/16-9/26 in 2001, and the weather was delightful the whole way. The only hitch was heavy rains the day we were in Pisa & Lucca, but otherwise the temperatures and general conditions were great. The cruise began in Barcelona and ended in Rome, with stops in Mallorca, Marseilles, Villefranche, Corsica, Livorno and Naples.

Have a great cruise, whenever and wherever you go and on whichever ship you sail!
