Default Civatevechia port to Rome airport

Hello,
Anybody used any taxi or limo transfer companies for the journey from the port to Rome airport.
Grateful for any input.
Regards,
Iain

i was having a look on line for transfers from port to city and they are just ridiculous (sp) money! you may find the ship transfers are actually the best deal.

Doing the trip in reverse - arriving Rome 10:30 am to depart Civitavecchia the next day - Galaxy 3rd September

I presume the same applies, except we do not have the alternative of the Celebrity transfer on offer!!

Rail appears to be through Rome - change platforms / trains to get to Civitavecchia

Found a company with a stretched Mercedes VIto (sort of commercial SUV!) for a not unreasonable 150 euros (there are 5 of us travelling) but as we arrive Thursday, sail Friday we are staying overnight and are currently trying to get the hotel to collect us!

Will advise progress!

If you have time, take the train from Rome to Civatevechia. This is the cheapest way to go. About a 30-45 minute train ride and about 1/2 mile walking distance to the ship. We paid $50.00 on our return, on a taxi, from the ship to the airport. You can also barter with the cab drives to get a fair price. I saw a message where someone paid 150 euros. That's a rip off.

Last year we took a limousine from Bob of romelimousines.com from Civatevechia to the International airport at Rome.

I booked the trip before we left home and the driver was early which as it happened was a godsend as there was a huge traffic pile up on the way to the airport which lasted nearly 50 minutes.

We were picked up at 8.30am for a 12.30pm flight and we did arrive in good time. We were in a mercedes saloon and our driver spoke good english. It was a lovely way to finish our cruise. I think it cost us $120US, much cheaper than the ship's price of $75USp.p. and stuck in a bus!
