Default Excursions

Help with excursions please. Anyone with experience in these ports - Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Paris/Normandy, Rotterdam, Brussels/Bruges/Zeebruge.

The ships excursions seem expensive. Can we do any of these places on our own? Ship seems to be docked right far from some of these towns? Are trains available to towns?

Anyone been to Giverney. Would love to go but the ship is charging a lot. Is it worth it or can we do on our own?

Any help would be most appreciated.

We're from a place near Rotterdam (Schiedam). The cruiseterminal in the centre of rotterdam. Just 10 minutes walk to the city centre. Public trasport is good and in 10 minutes you can get to the central trainstation by undergroud. Station is 2 minutes walk from the terminal.
You can take a train to Amsterdam (1 hour) Delft (15 minutes) or Gouda (15 minutes)
if you wan to know more let us know

Thanks for your reply. Maybe you can help as the ships excursions look rather pricey if we can do on our own might be better. These are some of the offerings - The Hague & Delft - have some Delft but wouldn't mind seeing it made, Windmills - have seen, Gouda walking tour, Rotterdam by private car, Amsterdam tour - been there several times.

What do you recommend are do all of these looking not so exciting. What is do able?

Thanks

Depends on what you would like to do or see. For shopping you can stay in Rotterdam There's a very good museum with nice pictures of Dali, Rembrandt and van Gogh. Delft is very easy to do. Please let me know what you would like to do most.

We will be in port from 9:30 until 6pm. Will probably want to spend some time in Rotterdam. Maybe take train to another place not too far. We are open to suggestions. Perhaps you could recommend a place in Rotterdam for a nice lunch if we end up there at lunch time.

Thanks patt

Are you cruising maybe I can help you with some questions. We have been on a lot of cruises.

Just try this link. Rotterdam has plenty restaurants. And public transport is very good.
Everything you want to do in the city is in walking distance from the pier.(you just have to walk over the bridge)

Bob:

We will be on the Golden Princess coming from New York to Southampton (14 days) the port excursions are near the end of the cruise. Have been on lots of cruises. Done all the carribbean ports, Baltic ports (one of our favorites), Rome, Venice, etc., Meditterean, etc. They have all been great can't complain about any of them.

Ships have been Royal Carribbean, Holland America, Princess.

Thinks for the web sites we will look into them. Didn't understand what is Genva - is this Venice if so you will love it.

Let me know if I can help you with anything.
