Default Transportation

Checked on train fares from Southampton to the Cotswolds in May and it is approximately $54US for one way ticket there. Then we are going to London from Cotswolds and that one way ticket is $42US. When we get to London we will use a travel card.

My question - is there a way to get to Cotswolds and to London cheaper than the above $.

Any suggestions on the cheapest to rent a car while in the Cotswolds for 3 days. Getting rates of about $300.00. Is this about right??

Help appreciated.

With more than 1 person, I'd think it would be cheaper and easier to just have a car the whole time (Southampton to Cotswolds to London). It looks to me like a small car can be had for 5 days for 179 pounds (auto) or 129 pounds (manual), assuming that you have credit card CDW coverage.

Wow - maybe we should walk. We have rented a car (hope its small) and will pick up in Moreton-in-Marsh and travel around the Cotswolds for 3 days and return to train station before heading to London. Maybe we can afford 1 or 2 tanks. Maybe we should drink the gas instead of the wine??
