Default warnemunde to berlin independently

Has anyone traveled independently from Warnemunde to Berlin via train but not on HAL's shore excursion? Please advise.

We are doing the independent travel, a Friend of ours took a tour, and she said that people who toured by themselves had a great time without the constraints of a tour.
We are on the Westerdam 6/29-7/10.

Default Rotterdam July 14 sailing-Tour Share to Berlin

Interested in a tour share from Warnemunde/Rostock to Berlin on July 18th? We've reserved a private tour company van and an English speaking guide from the port to Berlin, extensive sightseeing in Berlin, then a return by van to the ship. We are a party of 4, looking for 2 more people to join us. The cost is approximately $150 USD per person, for an 11-12 hour excursion. If interested, e-mail me at hbmsilver@aol.com

We will be on this trip also. We have just received all our documentation and beginning our search for information. Have you heard of Red October tours or DenRus tours? Do you have any information about getting a visa for travelling around Russia? The package tour thing is not our favorite, but it seems quite difficult to do in Russia.

We do look forward to the whole Baltic experience and would welcome any tips.

Thank you,
Meryl

I tried e-mailing you, but the mesage did not go through. If you're on the July 14th sailing of the Rotterdam and interested in the Warnemunde to Berlin private van and tour share, please e-mail me again, with a correct e-mail address.

We did this two years ago. TAKE THE SHIP PROVIDED TRAIN!!! It does not have air-conditioning, but the ship takes care of everything. It is a 2 hour plus train ride (each direction). If I remember correctly, a sack lunch was provided on the train (with full bar service at a cost). The train is parked directly next to the ship. The train drops you off and then busses took over. Either tour busses or busses to the central pick up/drop off point for the "independent" travelers.

Take a private tour within the city, but definitely take the ship-provided train.

The dining room re-opened for dinner when the train returned. It was very well organized.

We have booked a tour with Red October. We have another couple who is signing up for it. If you are interested email me at eperla@yahoo.com. We can take up to 10 people.

Have you looked into any Berlin tours. We are debating taking a tour that picks you up at the ship of hopping on the train and sightseeing on our own.

We're "independent types" and have reserved a private van to pick us up at the dock, an English speaking guide to show us Berlin and a return trip back to the ship. We are a group of 4 looking for 2 more adults to join us on this excursion. Anyone interested?
