Four of us will be taking the Golden Princess from Southhampton to New York in August and wanted advice on how to get to the embarkation port (Southhampton) from our hotel in Kensington (London) as inexpensively but efficiently as possible. I have done some checking and found a limo company that will do it for 175 GBP which is pretty high. The Motor coach I looked into booking was 50 GBP per person, , still no bargain.
Should I forget about trying to find any good deals? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!
Considering the distance, unless you do the train (a hassle with luggage) I don't think you're going to find real cheap prices. Years ago I took the train from Waterloo Station to Southampton and being that it was a local train, I had to handle my bags myself and there wasn't really anywhere to put them. Fortunately the train wasn't crowded so they stayed right near me on the floor. I would never do the train route again.
