Default weather in Italy in mid March

We have seen some very good tour prices for Venice, Florence and rome in mid to late March. Can anyone tell me what te weather is like in these cities at that time of the year? I know the crowds will be much less.

Chances are it will be wet, but if you can ignore that. You will see places without the crowds
