Default Holland to Hungary River Cruises

We are planing a Holland to Hungary river cruise for this fall. We would appreciate suggestions or comments of good ships, good companies, good day tours (with headphones?) and degree of educational content. Is late October going to be uncomfortably chilly?

You can look at Viking River Cruise, Peter Deilmann and Uniworld, with my recommendation on Viking River. Most of these have tours included and you can also purchase air packages through the cruise line at fairly decent rates.

On a river cruise the daily ports are the highlights but it is nice to spend it on a newer and fairly spacious vessel.

Here is a link to Anne's Viking River review that here on Cruisemates.

While October is not "high" season it is still a good time for lower fares and also to see some of the late colors. It may be cooler but you can dress appropriately.

Take care,
Mike

Sheridanco, how late in October will you be in Holland? If you plan to come close to november, keep in mind that our winter is pretty much starting and it can be cold in the mornings and evenings. Hungary is colder then Holland. Ask your TA what the best time is, if you can travel a month earlier you have more nice temperatures.

Late October is way too cold doing that cruise. Not just low temperatures, but a lot of rain will reduce the fun of cruising.
