Default Athens to Rome - mid-April or end of May?

We have booked a 10 day Oceania cruise going from Athens to Rome (Greek islands, Sicily, Capri). We chose May 29th,2007 but the same cruise is available on April 18th. We plan on staying in Italy for a week to sightsee. Any opinions on which date would be better? The temperature in April is mid to high 60's and the end of May is mid to high 70's. We do prefer the cooler temperatures but wonder if it would be too cold at night on the ship. It may also be less crowded in April.

thr Aril date..if you are planning on spending a week in Rome and you elected the May date that would put you into June and the tourist crowds pick up

April the weather is nicer also (IMHO)

You might check and see if there are any major events going on in Rome during both periods which may influence your decision one way or another
