Default Hotel needed in Italy?

Our Transatlantic Cruise ends in Civitavecchia, Italy and there's 60 of us that would like to stay for an extra three days. Could anyone suggest a reasonable but clean hotel/villa? We are all new to Italy and want to see as mcuh possible in our three post day cruise.
Sicne thanks for any information you can give me.

Honestly, your best option may well be one or another of your cruise line's postcruise packages. These packages include the transfer from the pier to the airport, so the price is somewhat higher than the hotel's rate, and they tend to stay in reasonable hotels. The cruise line has staff at a hospitality desk in the hotel lobby, and offers optional tours similar to shore excursions of the city's highlights that operate from the hotel.

Is your group size 6 or 60? If 60, that is quite a group! Did you get any deals? I would think so if you have 60 people travelling. You may have trouble booking a single hotel in Rome for 60 - especially in the summer!

As was suggested, bundling this post-cruise stay with your cruise is a good idea. If you want to do this indepedently, I would contact one of the independent tour companies in Italy that focus on cruise business - e.g., "Limo in Rome" - to help you out. I'll bet they could put together a fantastic 3 day custom package. It might be expensive, but I'll bet you would have a great time.

My final advice is to not attempt to see too much in 3 days. Sometimes people spend so much time trying to check boxes off a list that you don't have time to enjoy your visit and get a feel for the area. If you do want to see a lot, again a specialist company like "Limo in Rome" would be a plus.
