As Marc says, Finland use the Euro.

As for the rest, well some stores and sites will take them, but you cannot guarantee this & they will always give you a very poor exchange rate.

Your best bet is some form of credit card, Visa & Mastercard are the norm in Europe, just make sure that the card issuer doesn't charge crazy rates for using the card abroad.

If oyu don't like the idea of a credit card, then you can always cut it up when you get back home, and ask the issuer to send you a new one when you travel again.

Hope this is of help,

Alan

We just did a similar cruise last August. We brought pounds and Euros to take with us at our local bank, then bought small amounts of the local currency on the ship. But it was easier to do as Alan suggested and use a credit card. Capital One doesn't charge an exchange rate either.

Several of the Northern Europe countries have their own currencies. Denmark and Sweden have their own, I think Estonia has their own. Easy to research on the web.

Is there any reason you didn't read the second post in this thread wherein I listed all the currencies for each of the countries identified?

No need to research the web when the answer has already been provided.

Mark... i LOVE your quote... very funny.

And just in case your cruise stops here in Warnemünde, Germany...we use the Euro.
