Hi Beetle, for the Canaries/Atantic Isles you would need to say which ones. Some dock very close to beaches, whilst others are in the more industrial ports & you need to walk or take a cab.

For Lisbon, the best beaches are at Estoril and Cascais to the West, there is an excellent tram systm in Lisbon which would get you there and back quite quickly.

For Malaga the main beach is right there at the dock gate exit & stretches for miles.

Lastly, Cadiz, the main beach is easily reached by strolling straight through the town & out the other side. Again a very long, sandy beach with great water.

Have a lovely cruise,

Alan & Katrina

Hi again Beetle, I was expecting you to say Tenerife which is a shame if you want the beach. The ships nearly always call into Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the North East of the island, and this is the industrial end.

It is great for tax free shopping, sitting outside a bar or coffee shop soaking up the sunshine, but sand is going to be hard to find. I think you would have to take a taxi to find any - it's mostly down South.

If it is sun that you are after, it may be a good day for simply lazing by the pool with a long cold drink, enjoying the peace whilst everyone else is ashore.

Don't worry you'll still have a great time, and hopefully someone will post a message with inside knowledge of a secret beach known only to the locals ;o)

All the best,

Alan & Katrina
