We are planning a cruise with our two sons, 6 and 2, this coming spring on Carnival's out of LA to Ensenada. This will be our first cruise ever and was wondering if any one can give us some "tips" on cruising with a two years old. Are there something for kids this age to do on a cruise? Thanks a million.
Most cruise line children's programs start at age 3. Since you also have the 6 year old, you may be able to go to the children's center with your 2 year old also and let him play as long as you stay there with the child. Do contact Carnival and inquire what activities the younger child may be able to participate in with your assistance. Some newer cruise ships have a wading pool either in the children's area or near the resort/pool deck, so you could also inquire about that. Do bring a small umbrella style stroller for both your convenience and the child's comfort. Just walking on deck will give you some exercise and the little one a chance to rest.
Carnival's program for kids starts at age 2 - which is probably why you're looking to sail with them. Princess also start a program from age 2. Don't know how things will work out but I'm sailing the Spirit from Hawaii on Oct 8th with a 4yr old and a 2yr old.
