We are planning on taking a cruise on Carnival with our teen daughter. We cannot go over spring break or in the summer, so we are thinking about February 2003 or over Thanksgiving break in 2003. We would prefer the Thanksgiving, as there will be more teens, but she will have turned 16 by than. 16 is to old for Camp Carnival, so I am concerned whether there will be activities and oportunities to meet others her age. Would we be better off going in February so she can be a part of Camp Carnival?
If you go during President's weekend in February, there will be plenty of teens aboard for your daughter. Plus, there are good deals out there now so why wait until Nov. 2003 to cruise?
Smooth sailing,

Julie,
I found at 15 the kids don't "participate" in camp carnival. They might go to where the first meeting is but then just form groupsand hang out. My son has been with us when he was 13 and 14 and this is what he did. I think either way will work out fine. The last poster was right about Presidents week in Feb. That was the last two times we went and there were tons of kids. Have fun!
We sailed on Carnival when my kids were younger and they loved the kids program. We are trying out Royal Caribbean's Brilliance of the Seas during Presidents week Feb, 03 this time. The teen program on RCI is for 13 - 17 year olds, my 15 and 16 year old are looking forward to it and the others are right - that week in February will have loads of kids on Carnival.
