Default family cruising

We are planning on going on a cruise spring/summer of 2003. We have 3 children (15, 13, 9). Any suggestions on which line/boat? Who will accomodate us best in one cabin or suite? Appreciate any and all info. Thanks!

Hi Phyllis,
I'd consider checking into one of the RCCL "Voyager" class ships, they do have a wonderful family suite, seen one and it totally amazed me, now thats cruising!

I'm the family cruise editor here. Why don't you read two articles I've written on this family site that give you an overview of each line's youth programs? They are:
"Best Kids' Program? Ask a Kid!" and "Kids' Facilities and Activities by Cruise Line." While I like Princess' youth programs, there have been a number of parents who have posted messages here that Princess didn't have a lot of 5 person cabins. You'd probably do better in that department by checking out Carnival and Royal Caribbean.
Feel free to ask more Q's in the future.
Smooth sailing,
Luisa Frey Gaynor

Does anyone out there have a teenage girl, 13-15, who is going on the Eastern Caribbean cruise with Holland America, ms Maasdam, June 16 - 23, 2002? Please reply if so, ASAP.

We have three young children and would like to go on an Alaskan cruise. Do you have any suggestions as to the best time of year, how far in advance we should reserve, which ships are best suited for 5 people in a room, which have the best kids programs, etc. Is there any advantage to scheduling far in advance? If discounts are offered between booking and departure, will the discount be offered? Help!
