My husband and I are interested in cruising the Carribean. We are torn between the Grand Princess and the Paradise. We will be cruising in December. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I don't hold any position on cruise mates but my wife, two young sons and I have been on both ships. The Paradise has a larger childrens room than her sisters. It has a great climbing area. The counselors are terrific. They keep the kids active with crafts. The Grand was wonderful. Kids disco in the skywalkers dico. Wonderful childrens room but a little smaller than the Paradise. Both have wading pools. The Grands pool is one deck up and the Paradise is on the stern. If I had to choose again I would travel the Grand. The food was great on both ships but the Grands was a tad better. The Grands decor was nicer, but I like the ocean liner theme on the Paradise. Which ever ship you will have a great time.
I did not realize about how hard it was to decide on which ship to go on. Thank you so much for the input. After reading the responses, my husband and I will choose Grand Princess. Since we do not have any kids, we are try to savor the moment.
I find Princess to be a bit more of an exclusive experience than Carnival. The food is really excellent and the service is great. If you're looking for more night life, than alternatively you may want to choose Carnival.
Either case, you're sure to have plenty of good food and time to relax!
Smooth sailing,
