HAL for kids

We are booked on the May 19th cruise out of Vancouver to Alaska. My son is (almost) 7 and is looking forward to the HAL program. From the posts I have read here, I hope there will be a few kids on board! One question - I know some cruise lines have children programs on the evenings of the formal nights - does HAL do the same?

We just went on the Zuiderdam last month and my 9 year old enjoyed the Club HAL youth program. They do have a nightly youth program however it doesn't start until 8 p.m. Thus, your child will be staying with you during dinner. While some youth counselors on other lines take kids to dinner on formal nights, the HAL youth counselors do not.
