Default For Luisa & all- Potty panic!!

Hi all!
We are leaving on Celebrity's Century this Saturday and my three year old is still having the occasional potty accident. What happens if she has one while in the kids program? Does she get kicked out? We're trying our best to reinforce that she can't play with the other kids if she has an accident- but you know three year olds.

Thanks!
Suzanne

Hi:
I can identify with you -- our first cruise was on Celebrity when my daughter was just 3 and wasn't quite yet potty trained. How about putting pull ups on her when she goes to the program? Or do you think that will make her regress and give up the whole potty training thing altogether? Many lines give out beepers to parents of those under three years -- why don't you ask the counselors for a beeper when you leave her in the program so at least they'll contact you if there's a problem. You never know, she might be so pleased to be with the big kids in the program that she may not have an accident!
Let me know how it goes after the cruise!
Smooth sailing and smooth potty training!

Just another thought...when we cruised Celebrity, it was not yet owned by Royal Caribbean as it is today. I know that Royal Caribbean doesn't even let non-potty trained kids participate in the youth program so Celebriy may have the same rules. Thus, you may not want to mention the "occasional potty accident" to the counselors unless it really happens while on board!
Good luck,
Luisa

Yes, they have the strict no pull up/no diaper policy. I don't plan on mentioning her occasional accidents, and if she has one, I hope a $20 bill will smooth things over....

I liked your email (good strategy)! One has to have a sense of humor as a parent!
Hope all goes smoothly!

We traveled with a newly potty trained just turned three year old a while back on carnival. She had an accident the first day and they put her in a carnival t-shirt and that was that. Never even called me. No big deal. She remained in the program for the rest of the cruise.

It was encouraging to hear hb mom's report about Carnival dealing well with a potty accident. Hopefully Celebrity will too!
