Formal attire for a 2 year old and 5 year old
We are sailing Sunday, July 27th on the Rhapsody of the Seas. I am not sure what to dress my kids in for the formal nights. Does my 5 year old son need to wear a tie? Their Easter outfits were very nice but not "formal". Are nice shorts with a nice shirt okay my son on the non-formal nights. My 2 year old daughter has some nice dresses so I am not as worried about her.
Thanks for your help,

Re: Formal attire for a 2 year old and 5 year old
It was easy to dress my daughter. My son was a different story. I did it all. Got him slacks, dress shoes, black socks, white shirt, and tie. After seeing the other children I was a little sorry I spent the money. He didn't have alot of use for his new clothes after the cruise. The boys were mostly in button down shirts or collar shirts. (polo style) Most did not have slacks, just not blue jeans. (docker looking style). I will say that our family pictures turned out very nice with all of us dressed up.

Hi Carol, what i would do is get your son a nice pair of Docker's type or cargo pants a nice shirt & tie and a nice pair of shoes for formal nights, you don't have to break the bank you can get really nice kids stuff at KMart, Target stores like that, then take the same pants but with a polo type or hawaiian print shirt for the casual nights. Doing it this way he will get some school wear(unless he has a growth spurt) out of the cruise clothes
