Default General questions

I am hoping to book a cruise in the near future. I am pretty sure that we will book a Disney cruise. Although it is more expensive it seems like it would be better for our now 7 (soon to be 8) year old. Can anyone give me any avice about the cruise in general & also does Disney have a soft drink plan? Someone told me that they also had a plan that you purchased for beer. I haven't been able to find any infor on anything along these lines for Disney cruises. It seems from most of the postings that most people here don't go Disney. Any particular reason?

Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think the main reason a lot of folks don't book Disney is because of the price. There seems to be a "love-hate" relationship with Disney. If you love Disney, love being surrounded by everything Disney and want a total Disney experience and don't mind paying for it then go for it. On the other hand there are many options for families with kids-RCL's Voyager Class of Ships and Carnival come to mind -that provide top-notch kids programs, lots for everyone to do. FYI- no casinos on Disney if that is a concern.

I agree with Lisa that some don't book Disney because of the price. That said, they do have a good youth program. Have you read the article I wrote on this site about Disney's youth program? We've sailed on Disney three times -- when my daughter was 5, 6 and 8 years. She enjoyed it each time. There are also many family activities like character breakfasts, tea with Wendy, etc.
Let us know what you decide.
Smooth sailing,
