Hello,
My entire family and a large group of friends are taking the 7 day Southern Caribbean Cruise 10/04. There are only 2 children going on this cruise, my daughter and my cousin. At the time we are taking the cruise, they will be ages 9 and 8. I looked at the age breakdown and it looks like one will be in 1 group and 1 in the other. My question is, how flexible is the age grouping thing? These 2 children are attached like you wouldn't believe and my aunt and I would like for them to be in the same group. Would this be possible? Or is there anyone on the Destiny I could talk to before we cruise?
I just got off a Royal Caribbean cruise and asked the lead youth counselor the same question. Obviously it will vary according to the cruise line and which youth counselors are aboard, but he said that if kids want to be in the same age group together, generally they will put them in the lower aged group. However, if the older child is disruptive or bored, they may have to split them up. So, it's hard to give you a definite answer -- you'll have to talk to the youth counselors once aboard ship.
Smooth sailing,
