Default 6 year old with a Sail and Sign Card. How not to lose it?

Any tips on how to keep track of card for 6 and 9 year olds? I assume they will get a card of their own? We are on Inspiration 1/04/04.

May I ask what a 6 yr and 9 yr would need a sign and sail card for? If you purchase soda cards that would take care of the drinks.

That was part of my question, will they get a card? Isn't it used for ID and door key etc? I assumed everyone on board would get one but didn't know for sure. If I buy them a soda card I thought I had heard it was a sticker or punch on the S & S card. I have never cruised Carnival before and have never brought my kids on a cruise so don't know the ins and outs.

Thanks

Last week I saw children of all ages with a red Camp Carnival lanyards and their card was punched and worn around the neck. I don't know if you need to buy the lanyard, but white Carnival ones are available in the gift shop. Even children need the cards for embarkation and disembarkation purposes, as well as cabin entry.
Bon voyage

When we were on the Triumph in Feb they gave us for free the plastic chains to wear the S&S around your neck....I'm sure they will do that if you ask.

We always hold on to our children's Sign and Sail cards. I don't see the reason why they have to carry them around and risk losing them. If it were an older child and you gave charging privliges, that is different, but my son will be 6 on our next cruise and I will be ordering his sodas or whatever for him so there is no need for him to have the card. If he lost it, anyone who found it could use it. Maybe not to charge but could steal items from our room. I would not take the chance. Just my opinion though.

My husband carried our children S&S cards the kids don't need them except to get off and on the boats, why risk the chance of then losing them...

Yes, everyone is issued a Sail and Sign card as they need them to get on and off the ship.

I always carry my daughter's Sail and Sign card and her Fountain Fun Card (though now that they have soda free in the dining room for kids under 12 we don't even get the soda card anymore). She has no need of either card in Camp Carnival and if she wants to use her card to open the room, I'm right there with her and can give it to her. Her job is to just have fun and not worry about keeping track of her card. If she were to lose it, you can go to the purser's desk and have it cancelled and they'll issue a new one.

The chances of someone using it to get into your stateroom are extremely small--your room number is not indicated on the card, so they'd have to try doors until they found the one that it worked in.
