Default Phone calls

Has anyone tried to make phone calls from the ship and/or check e-mail? How much is the cost?

Phone calls on the ship can be expensive (although believe it or not the prices I'm about to quote have come down from previous highs). They will cost you roughly $9.95 per minute (varies by a dollar or so from line to line).
Internet costs aboard ship also depend on what line. Figure 75 cents to a dollar a minute, but packages of minutes and unlimited use packages can be purchased that lower the per minute cost greatly. Stll expensive however.
In most ports you can find very inexpensive internet cafes and kiosks that get cost down as low as 3 dollars for a half hour. Ask your waiters and stewards. Crew use these locations all the time and will know where the cheaper ones are located.

Thank you very much! Also, has anyone to report cruise experience with 10 years old boys? How is the Carnival camp for boys? Do they getbored or will they have a good time?

Carnival has a very good youth program -- make sure your son checks it out. THere are fun things to do and it's a way to meet other kids.
Smooth sailing,

It is best to buy a on land calling card and make calls from a pay phone when in port ... You will save a TON of money that way........

I have been a crew member for Carnival and RCI for over thirteen years and recommend if you have a mobile that you look at

http://www.1cellnet.com/cellularone and click the feature presentation button. This will enable you to call the US for 10Cents per minute from your mobile while cruising

Wouldnt you just pay your cell phone plan's roaming charges (if applicable) when you are on the boat?
