Hair braiding

my 14 year old daughter wants to get her hair braided on our cruise this summer on adventure of the seas *JULY 11TH*.. we are going to st. thomas.. st. marteen.. puerto rico.. and curacao.. do they have hair braiding at any of these places? we are plannin to swim with dolphins when we are at curacao .. CANT WAIT!!

Hey there,
I have been on two cruise and have gotten my hair braided both times. The prices in St. Thomas are alot more expensive then St. Martin. In Pureto Rico I din't see any people offering. i havent been to Curaco yet so I am not sure about there. So in my oppinion get it done in St.Martin. Tell you daughter to come to the teen boards there will be alot of people there to help answer questions and help her with anything.

You will find people to braid hair right by the pier in Curacao.

I just got back from that cruise! It was awesome! I have 2 kids 7 and 3. You will find hair braiding everywhere! They are always asking if they can braid your daughters hair. My daughter has short and very think hair so we didn't have it done, maybe next time when her hair is longer. Are you going to Aruba too? If you go shopping in St. Maarten, that is where I would have it done. NOT on the other side...St. Martin. Curacao would be good too or if you go to Aruba they have that all along the shops there too!

depending upon how long your daughter's hair is, it can be a very time consuming and costly adventure. Make sure you know the price before they start. They usually charge per braid. You can get it done on any of the islands.

my daughters hair is medium length.. but very curly and thick.. she got in done in jamaicaa and it took an hour and a half - so im hoping this time we can find a place where my husband and i can do something while keeping an eye on her.

I did it in St. Martin on the Dutch side of the island both times. We did it at Orient Bay. My parents were able toswim or sleep or do what ever they want while I got it done.

She doesn't have to have her whole head braided either. She could do the top and sides, saves $$ and time.

My 5 year old had her hair braided. We had the woman do the corn rows (top and sides braided and the rest of her hair was just regular and she had bangs. It took about 20 minutes and cost $30. We thought the price was reasonable. It was great, kept her hair out of her face. I just took her braids out after about 2-3 weeks because I was afraid of her hair getting damaged. If we were to have her hair braided again, I would not leave them in that long again. Negotiate a price before they start braiding her hair.

Just returned from a cruise and my daughter got her hair braided at Sapphire Beach in St. Thomas. Lovely lady braiding there and the beach is beautiful!
Also, there are many ladies who braid hair on the town beach by the pier in St. Maarten.

If you can, I would try to get your daughters hair braided as close to the end of the cruise as possible. It is difficult to keep their scalps from getting burnt. Yes, you can put lotion on and they can wear a hat but if your kids are like mine and they love to be in the water it makes it harder to keep the scalp protected. Have a great time!!
