We are considering a cruise from Istanbul through the Greek Islands ending in Athensin 2005. Our children are 16 and 11. Has anyone done a similar cruise? Any help is greatly appreciated. The small size of the boat is of some concern.....
Re: RSSC Navigator with kids in the Meditteranean?
I took my 10 yo last fall on a Royal Caribbean cruise in the Mediterranean which she loved. Since it was late September, there weren't any other kids her age on board (just a few little ones), but we were so busy with the port intensive itinerary that it was okay. Also, the large Royal Caribbean ships have good kid and teen-friendly facilities like basketball courts, pools, mini-golf, rock walls; these kept her busy when we were at sea.
Although it sounds like you're going in the summer when more kids cruise, there probably won't be too many on RSSC compared to the larger cruise lines. There also aren't the public facilities (like those listed above) on the smaller RSSC ships. So it's your call whether you feel your pre-teen and teen need activities and facilities to keep them happy.
HAve you considered Royal Caribbean's Brilliance of the Seas in the Med? What a beautiful ship with great facilities. We loved the whole experience.
Let me know what you decide.
